Maryna has a strong track record of defending against state overreach and protecting human rights, with particular expertise in cross-border white-collar crime investigations involving INTERPOL. In a recent high-profile case, she led the defence of a South American special envoy who was unlawfully detained in transit and extradited to the United States, in clear breach of diplomatic protections. The matter concluded with a full presidential pardon.

She also has in-depth expertise in global sanctions regimes and has advised leading shipping companies from Eastern Europe and the Middle East on compliance, enforcement actions, and related legal proceedings. Maryna regularly contributes to the work of the UN Special Rapporteur on Unilateral Coercive Measures and speaks at United Nations conferences. 

Maryna is a member of Lincoln’s Inn, the UK Defence Extradition Lawyers’ Forum (DELF), the European Criminal Bar Association (ECBA), the Ukrainian National Bar Association, and the Constitutional Justice Committee of the Odesa Region Bar Council.
